Entrance: The Salami

I have one, and only one thing to say about today's comic.

DUN DUN DUNNNNN!

On that note, updates should really, honest to god, be back on track soon. I've finished moving to Utah for the summer, and things are finally settling down here, what with our two week crash course starting to wind down so we can start preliminary research. By the way, this pattern recognition stuff is fascinating. Lotta math involved, too.

Game o' the Day: SLASHEM

SLASHEM is Super Lotsa Added Stuff Hack - Extended Magic. It's more or less nethack with a bunch of extra classes and monsters and magic and what have you. Great fun, if you enjoy roguelikes. Even if you don't, I'd imagine it's worth a shot. However, unless you really dig text-based terminal graphics, or some almost as primative, I recommend you download and play Vulture's Claw, which is a sweet isometric frontend to the game.

So, funny story, I was playing as a random healer. In the dungeon, no food, my pet had died already, no monsters to kill and eat, gruesome as that is. Literally starving to death. Then I stumble across a boulder, and realize that I have the "Stone to Flesh" spell. So, I cast it on the boulder, transforming it into a huge chunk of meat. I then proceeded to choke to death on the huge chunk of meat. Moral of the story: blast the boulder into more manageable pieces first.
